This will help you stay organized and focused and ensure that you cover all the topics you need to. Make sure to make a realistic plan that ensures that ensures the work life balance and doesn’t hamper your ward postings and health. Prioritize learning according to “Must know”, “Should know” and “Nice to know” category of topics.

Some recommended textbooks include Park’s Textbook of Preventive and Social Medicine and DK Taneja’s Health Policies & Programmes in India by Bratati Banerjee. As Community Medicine is a vast and theoretical subject, don’t just rely on one textbook or set of notes. Use a variety of study materials along with the textbooks such as lecture notes, videos, and online resources. This will help you understand better and reinforce your learning. Refer to authentic sites to remain updated with the latest guidelines and information. Also read about the diseases prevailing and steps being taken at community level to prevent and treat them.
  1. Take effective notes: Take thorough notes while studying that highlight the important points. This will make it easier for you to remember the information and revise it later. Use of mnemonics, flashcards, tables, and illustrative flowcharts in the notes helps in quick memorization and revision.
  1. Practice previous year question papers: Practice with previous year papers and sample questions to familiarize yourself with the format of the exam and the types of questions you will be asked. This will also help you identify areas where you need to focus your study efforts. Also align your study according to the latest CBME prof exam pattern to understand and score well.
  1. Attend Community visits and Volunteer in public health: Consider volunteering or working in public health to gain hands-on experience in the field. This will give you the opportunity to apply the knowledge you’ve learned and see the real-world impact of public health initiatives. Consider participating in research related to community medicine. This can help you gain a deeper understanding of the field and contribute to the development of new knowledge and interventions.
  2. Take breaks and stay motivated: Taking regular breaks and staying motivated is important to avoid burnout and remain focused. Take breaks every hour or so and do something that relaxes you, such as taking a walk or listening to music. Additionally, set goals for yourself and reward yourself when you achieve them.
